When drying psychedelic mushrooms, such as Psilocybe cubensis, they undergo a significant reduction in weight. Fresh mushrooms typically contain about 90% to 95% water, so when they are dried, they lose most of this water content. As a result, the mushrooms retain only about 5% to 10% of their original weight.
When using dried mushrooms, the dosage needs to be adjusted because they are more concentrated than fresh mushrooms. Generally, 1 gram of dried mushrooms is roughly equivalent to 10 grams of fresh mushrooms.
