Therapeute beboet voor behandelen patienten met psychedelica

Een rechter in Zwitserland heeft een psychotherapeute die haar high society patiënten behandelde met LSD, MDMA en mescaline veroordeeld tot een voorwaardelijke gevangenisstraf en een geldboete. Volgens haar zouden de middelen het bewustzijn verruimen.

Het hof van Zurich gaf de 62-jarige therapeute een voorwaardelijke celstraf van 16 maanden en een geldboete van 1500 euro voor het verstrekken van de verboden middelen tijdens sessies tussen 2004 en 2008. Deze sessies werden gehouden in een special daarvoor ingerichte ruimte.

Groepen van rond de 60 mensen, waaronder doktoren, advocaten en vrouwen van zakenmannen betaalden ieder 200 euro om deel te nemen aan deze sessies, zo meldt het dossier.

De psychotherapeute deelde in die tijd in totaal 700 LSD, 50 mescaline en 150 2C-B doseringen uit. De Zwitserse aanklager was uit op een veroordeling van dealen. Volgens de therapeute ontving ze de drugs per post uit de Verenigde Staten.

In de rechtbank verklaarde ze dat de middelen geen drugs waren, maar stoffen die zorgen voor verruiming van het bewustzijn.

this woman is a genius. and a brave person. she'll break (pointless) laws to provide the right treatment for suffering people.

meanwhile, in fascist Europe... they're oppressing hearts and minds. mostly minds. my heart is fine, cos i know i can get these consciousness expanding substances through means beyond the so-called 'law'.

yeah i kinda agree with Joe. It sounds like she knew what she was doing. And apparently apart from a single woman who couldn't accept that his husband lost interest in her -the informant- all of her customers were satisfied enough to keep silent. No wonder that the informant's husband broke up with her...

Here are my 2 cents:
With all the news emerging lately of psychotherapists using psychedelics for treatments, I think we are taking steps BACK, AWAY from the legalization we want.
1) Psychedelics are for the healthy and wholesome, keep them away from the mentally or physically ill or the people who just want to expand their mind for the fun of it.
2) We don't want psychedelics to be treated as medicine, we want it to be treated as caffeïne, nicotine, alcohol: free distribution to adults without medical intermediaries.
3) The profession of psychotherapy is the biggest bullshit of our ages. Anyone who thinks the sun shines out of their arse, can be one, since the title 'psychotherapist' is hardly regulated. All it takes is putting up a sign at your door, figuratively speaking. How could one person really know another person, let alone know what would make him 'better'? Psychotherapists are a plague, and now they are hijacking psychedelics!
(4) Also, I think psychedelics CAN be used to keep a population under control - unconscious.)

You might be right TD about point 4. They are doing anything they can atm to keep us from remembering our powers. Some certain way of using psychedelics might even be involved. Legalization I am afraid will never happen.

i mostly agree with u TD. and i entirely agree with u Henk.
but when it comes to pschedelics i agree with Dr Alexander Shulgin. and one of his beliefs is that they can be used for healing. i think a very small amount of LSD or MDMA would do a world of good for people suffering mentally (they're not mentally ill though, just depressed etc).
however, considering pretty much anyone can become a so-called 'psychotherapist', i think as far as legalisation goes, we need them to stay away. i'd only take advice on the use of these substances in healing from true genius such as Dr Shulgin or others.
this woman doesnt appear to be one of the many space wasting psychotherapists though, she knew what she was doing, and i believe she would've done these people some good.
as long as she kept the doses down, if i hear any info that these patients were tripping balls then i wont remain in agreement with her. cos that would NOT help a mentally suffering person at all...

I wholeheartedly disagree with ‘TD’ on that psychedelics should be mere ‘recreational’ drugs, let alone be put in line with ‘caffeïne, nicotine and alcohol.’

Firstly: there are ample clinical studies which show patients undergoing ‘psychedelic’ therapy, i.e. with the use of entheogens, can make a degree of progress in mere sessions that could take years in regular therapy. Now, if you’re a simpleton like ‘TD,’ and feel all therapy is quackery and everyone should just stop whining and party, alright, but there are also people with deeply engrained psychological hang-ups, e.g. pertaining to parental neglect, abuse, and so on and so forth, and psychedelics – as opposed to said legal dissociative agents – have a profound quality in that they can re-establish connections in the brain, bring surpressed memories to the forefront, and generally be extremely useful as therapeutic aids.

So there’s that, but secondly: it is to stupidly trivialize their use in shamanistic culture, where such plants are not revered for the ‘kicks’ they give, but for their being powerful healing tools.

Sorry, ‘TD,’ but you are way off base, suggesting ‘news about therapeutic use of psychedelics’ is what’s holding off legalization. What REALLY happened, is that for years, we had a progressive legislation concerning entheogens in the Netherlands, but with ever increasing party-hardy drug-tourists coming to Amsterdam washing down ‘shrooms with beer and what not, there were a number of incidents, and the conservative-regressive government saw their chance fit to do what they do best. You can blame the media, blame the government all you will, but ultimately, it’s the baboons who ruined it for the ‘responsible’ psychonauts.

I don't agree with you, Don Jia. I'm french, and I know that the "baboons", as you call them, are mostly french people. But I also know that in a right-regressive country like France, psychedelic freedom makes many people dream, so when they are in Dam, they abuse of MJ, shrooms and alcohol, and then get dangerous. I don't think that there are many more hard stoners or junkies in France than in the Nederlands, and maybe would it be the same for dutch people if the situation was inverted. For me, the real problem is that ONLY Nederlands allow (for the moment) those substances. Freedom in your country wouldn't be threatened if everybody was free. Ciao a tutti.
