Oproep voor staking coffeeshops

De Haarlemse coffeeshophouder Nol van Schaik roept coffeeshops in het hele land op om te staken tijdens de Tweede Kamerverkiezingen op 9 juni. Door de deuren van shops gesloten te houden, wil hij bezoekers duidelijk maken wat er kan gebeuren als er weer een (rechts) kabinet komt dat coffeeshops aan banden wil leggen.

Het CDA gaf eerder al aan zij het gebruik van drugs onwenselijk vinden daarom ALLE coffeeshops willen sluiten.
Ook de partij van Geert Wilders (PVV) is fel gekant tegen elke vorm van drugsgebruik (alcohol uiteraard uitgezonderd) en pleit voor afschaffing van het gedoogbeleid. Verslaafden zien zij het liefst gedwongen afkicken in en een jarenlang verblijf in een rijkswerkinrichting. Klik hier om de PVV standpunten ten aanzien van het gedoogbeleid te lezen.

Een coalitie tussen CDA en PVV met de VVD en CU zou er voor kunnen zorgen dat er over enkele jaren geen coffeeshops meer zijn in Nederland. Van Schaik roept alle coffeeshophouders daarom op om hun winkel gesloten te houden op de verkiezingsdag. Dan voelen onze bezoekers zich misschien wel geroepen om even naar het dichtstbijzijnde stembureau te lopen om hun stem uit te brengen!’, schrijft Van Schaik in zijn oproep. Tegelijk zal het volgens hem in steden als Amsterdam en Maastricht direct een toename van de straatverkoop te merken zijn als alle coffeeshops een dag dicht gaan. ‘Dan ziet iedereen dat sluiting van de coffeeshops geen oplossing is.’

this is a good idea! and i'll make sure i'm not in the Netherlands on that day. it would be too depressing.

That's a really good idea.Slow changes have already started and are hardly noticable.If they continue the coffeeshops will be gone.This drastic change for one day will show how important the coffeeshops for everyone are.

Good on them! Hope this goes ahead (and that none of the coffee shops use it as a way to make some extra $$ by staying open)!
I hope that the NL sees quite an economical hit on that day as a result too (we all know the only way to truly secure our freedom of choice as far as the government is concerned is to give them a financial motive...)

Ik steun dit idee helemaal. Ik ben onze bekrompen en nauwdenkende regering echt zat. Het is tijd om ons gewilde kruidje eens te legaliseren en te reguleren ipv het te verbieden!
Ik wil best een dagje zonder "shoppen" voor deze actie. Goed initiatief!

i also reckon it'd be a good idea for all the people who work in coffeeshops to go somewhere and act all unemployed... maybe get drunk... just loiter about and show the political parties what would happen to all those honest, working people.

Hoe erg onze rechtse vrienden het ook willen, het sluiten van coffeeshops lost niets op. Er zullen altijd blowers blijven, kijk maar naar de Verenigde Staten, waar er in sommige staten maanden celstraf kan staan op bezit. Daar blowen ze er ook niet minder op.

Good idea to do this on election day, everyone should be very aware of this mayor threat.
And do keep in mind as well, that more and more politicians do see the benefits of legelisation/regulation/earning taxes out of it.

So there still is hope!

Grappig eigenlijk wel, de rest van de wereld begint een meer liberale houding te nemen tav drugs, zelfs de VSA, en tegelijkertijd gebeurt in NL het omgekeerde ..

Nuja hopelijk worden de shops niet gesloten bij mijn geweldige noorderbuurtjes :)

I really dont know exactly what to say, but that I'm really saddened that it has come to this. I see the NL as a kind of flagship for other countries to follow, in many areas. And now theres a real threat to sinking that ship.

also, makes me wonder about the motives of those supporting to close the shops, and should they succeed I think it would not be the last of what you would hear from them...

Tjaa..wat moet je ervan zeggen?
Tlijkt allemaal nogal verdeeld! Rechts zegt sluiten, en overziet de gevolgen niet. Links zegt open houden en eventueel legaliseren.
Ik vind, dat ze het allemaal niet zo belangrijk moeten vinden in de politiek.
Net zoals het verbieden van paddoos, ab klink trapt die wetswijziging erdoorheen! En legde de adviezen van andere mensen naast zich neer.

Maar ik stem wel lekker op een linkse partij dit x, zijn al genoeg rechtse stemmers!
Beetje jammer eigelijk die verdeeldheid in de politiek in het algemeen, wordt iedereen niet beter van. En oneindige discussies zonder echte besluiten!

Denken de rechtse partijen nou echt dat het sluiten van de coffeeshops het gebruik van cannabis tegen gaat of ook maar enigzins iets verbeterd? Ik vind het echt te triest voor woorden dat wij na jaren van een succesvol gedoogbeleid nog steeds zoveel bekrompen politici hebben die hier vel tegen zijn. Legaliseer cannabis en je lost veel meer op dan door het te verbieden. Weg illegale kwekerijen, betere regulatie van de gehele markt en ook nog eens de mogelijkheid op het heffen van acczijnsen.

We moeten niet vergeten dat de VVD zijn standpunt tegenover het sluiten van coffeeshops heeft aangepast. Ze zijn namelijk voor legalisatie van cannabis maar wel alleen voor mensen met een soort van lidmaatschap, ook willen ze de teelt reguleren. Alleen jammer dat de CDA en PVV zulke idiote ideeën over het drugsbeleid hebben terwijl PVV stemmers het meeste blowen van allemaal.

thats rly sad but i fear the coffeshops in NL will close -.- ....ppl r rly stupid.....if they close the coffeshops the blackmarket will BOOM!!! anyway we rly r going backwards in evolution....and rly why baning drug plants/drugs??? that doesnt changes anything in the number of addicts.....and in fact, taking drugs is on responsibility of the taker......they mostly know what the drug does or can do......

It sure is a great idea, but first i wonder if really all shopowners would strike and furthermore i dont think that it´ll do much...sadly!

The smokers of Netherland NEED to form a force and demonstrate against the repression and the possibility of a fascist state!!!

Guy, form Groups..go out on the street and DO something. If youl demonstrate close to the German border (venlo/roermond etc.) even german activist will come and support you...but only the Dutch can fight for their, and OUR FREEDOM!
So I beg you people, just one of you...Start something...before its too late
