Hooggerechtshof: water in bong is verboden drug

Volgens het hoogerechtshof van Minnesota (VS) kan het water dat in een waterpijp wordt gebruikt als illegale drug worden beschouwd.

De uitspraak komt nadat een 46-jarige vrouw uit Minnessota in 2007 werd opgepakt en er bij een huiszoeking een waterpijp en butaan aansteker werd gevonden. Uit onderzoek bleek dat het water in de bong resten methamfetamine bevatte. De rechter oordeelde vervolgens dat het restant water onder de noemer ‘drug mixture’ hoort te vallen, waarvoor flinke straffen kunnen gelden.

Een official van de narcoticabrigade getuigde dat het zogenaamde ‘bongwater’ regelmatig word bewaard om later op te drinken.

Uh, bongwater opdrinken? Wij vragen ons af of dit gaat leiden tot een betere hygiene onder stoners. Of wellicht wordt het drinken van bongwater een nieuwe hype?

hehe injecting bongwater? are you f****** kidding me , usualy i max different herbs or hash with tobacco the leftover nicotine in the water from smoking as little as 10-20 ciggarettes even if the nikotine is carefully removed by gently roasting the tobacco as i do would proabably be enough to kill several people, thats the sickest most wrong story about bongwater i have ever heard, they might aswell consider drain cleaner an illegal drug too then becaus there just might be some moron out there thinking about injecting it or drinking it, or some wierd shit like that and what if people actualy survive injecting or eating or whatever really really dumb substances or even poisons or what not they can think of, are they illegal drugs by american law then? , OMFG some people should have no right to speak a single word even to themselves, well this story will anyways proabably keep me grining my face off atleast untill this time next year

Also, if you read the whole story, the lovely woman was a mother of two. Smoking meth. Now I'm not saying she's a BAD person. But that is certainly f'ed up. If you disagree, stop smoking meth, or put your kids up for adoption - they deserve better!

When the narcotics officer said "drinking the bong water" my guess is he didn't mean the water that's left after smoking weed or hash, but after using methamphetamine. Meth is water-soluble.

Ach ja t is gewoon een creatieve manier van die kleingeestige amerikanen om mensen die in hun huis sporen van drugsgebruik hebben(zoals bongwater), maar geen drugs in huis hebben Tóch te kunnen aanpakken. Tragisch hoor.

In het nieuwsartikel staat ook dit:

The law says that a person is guilty of first-degree possession if he or she possesses one or more mixtures of 25 grams or more of meth. In Peck's case, the bong water weighed 37 grams.

Dus als ze de bong leeg zou hebben gegooid in de plee, waar zo'n dikke liter water inligt, was ze opgepakt voor 1000grams of meth-mixture?

You're right the United States is not free. I should know that's where I live. I was arrested once for having 2g of pot in the privacy of my hotel room which they searched without cause. It cost close to a thousand dollars including lawyer and fines.
