Well I normally never take brainboosters or anything like that but during the exams I take homemade pills with a mixture of guarana and kolanut. Not just for the concentration but also to keep myself awake since exams are such a stressed out period I have bad nights of sleep and I don't like to be drinking huge amounts of redbull. This works good for mestoeltje - 2009-10-14 16:20:50

Ritalin is shit...For your body and your well being, it's even worse for poor kids who take it every day, they didn't choose to be drugged and doctors tell them it is good...I personally used ritalin for my exams and it is really crazy stuff. "Intelligence in a bottle"... But the side effects are serious.
You fell really bad with those chemicals.
But for a short period it is magic...
And I discourage anyone to take this garbage every day.

The use of ritalin is very good for people who ACCTUALLY have ADHD or dyslexia and related stuff like that. I am a university student and use Ritalin every day since I legitamately have ADHD. Ik can concentrate and read much better! There are also people who take ritalin and become restless etc. If you get this result you do not have ADHD. I get more relaxed and less restless of ritalin. I can pop some pills in the evening and still sleep normally half an hour later.Webro - 2009-10-15 18:23:37
I use guarana, ginko biloba and spirulina to get more energy and better focus. Also green, white tea or herba mate helps. Another good tip for your brain is omega's 3,6,9 (hemp seed oil) and curcuma (yellow root) which makes your neurons fire better.I wouldn't recommend Ritalin to anybody, for me it's like amphetamines a temporary brain boost but you are over taxing your system and can be damaging.

@ aadje:you're wrong, much people who have adhd can't sleep when haven taken ritalin.
i've been using relatine (ritalin) for a long time as a child, but i can now work without it.i only still use it for my exams...also i would recomend : don't use this too much if u don't have adhd! i know a guy who got this from his doctor but he didn't have adhd, he totally abused it and ended up sniffing more then 5 crushed 10mgs a day, with a very bad feeling afterwards..

Sometimes when I have a full day of school and I feel tired or unmotivated about it I choose to drink Kolanut (kola nut) tea. It makes the day much better. I'll get more energy and it lifts the spirit. But people, use this stuff wisely.

@ aadje and 2J:I have ADD and got Ritalin from my doctor.
Within a week I wanted to stop using this. I really feld bad with it.
I know other ADD/ADHD patients for whom this works great. (*I alsmost cannot believe it*)
Now I am on dexamphetamine and feel great! Especially now I have found the right amount and frequency.
I now can do my work much more flexibly. Be concentrated on one thing, be disturbed with someone at my desk and have a conversation for a few minutes and continue with the first thing without having to completely re-focus and start over.
Also I have way better overview of all tasks at hand.
