'Prince of Pot' de cel in

Canadese cannabisactivist en vrijdheidsstrijder Marc Emery, ook wel bekend als 'the Prince of Pot', is op 28 september in voorlopige hechtenis genomen, en zal binnenkort worden uitgeleverd aan de Verenigde Staten, die om zijn uitlevering hebben gevraagd.

De uitlevering komt nadat hij jarenlang wietzaden verkocht via internet, ondermeer aan Amerikaanse klanten. En hoewel de Canadese overheid volledig op de hoogte was van zijn werkzaamheden, en hier altijd netjes belasting over ontving, was de Amerikaanse DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) er minder blij mee. Ze stelden meerdere malen een onderzoek in, en deden tot tweemaal toe een poging om in een undercover operatie een flinke hoeveelheid wiet te kopen van de Canadees. Deze weigerde dit echter altijd resoluut; hij verkocht immers enkel zaden.

In de zomer van 2005 volgde zijn arrestatie, waarbij Emery's huis volledig overhoop werd gehaald en pc's en zaden in beslag werden genomen.

Om twee van zijn voormalige werknemers en vrienden te beschermen, koos hij ervoor om een deal te sluiten en zich niet langer te verzetten tegen uitlevering. Hij zal waarschijnlijk een gevagenisstraf moeten uitzitten van zo'n 5 jaar.

Een aantal feiten die de idiootheid van de uitlevering en vervolging onderstrepen:

Marc Emery is een Canadese burger die nooit naar de VS geweest om zaden te verkopen
Marc Emery opereerde met zijn zaadhandel ten alle tijde vanuit Canada, en had geen Amerikaanse vestigingen of medewerkers.
Marc Emery gaf zijn inkomen van de verkoop van cannabis zaden aan als inkomstenbelasting, en heeft in de periode van 1999 tot 2005 meer dan $580,000 dollar aan belastingen betaald.
Marc Emery is in Canada nooit gearresteerd of veroordeeld voor het produceren of verhandelen van cannabis, hij verkocht alleen zaden.
Marc Emery gaf al de winst die hij maakte met zijn zaadhandel aan organisaties die strijden voor betere drugswetgeving, politieke partijen, protesten en demonstraties, rechtszaken, initiatieven ten behoeve van medische cannabis, en andere legale activiteiten en organisaties.

a good good man going down for all the wrong reasons... the DEA were wrong to extradite Howard Marks, and he actually dealt in thousands of tonnes of weed... but this man is a noble and charitable hero.

i think its our time for all ppl who smoke any kind of weed, or are in any way interested in civil rights to fight against the usa and their policy to make this world a police state, while they kill and degrade everything thats pure, they actually are protecting the bigcompanys, seed herbicide medicine companys, that loose money because of ppl like us who want to grow our own plants drugs or not, they want to destroy the normal dna and plant nature, to make one season crops so everybody is in their hands like slaves, working for them, buying for them, its just a process of inslavering us... mark emery is the prove...if they can make mark emery go into usa jail, they can come into europeen soil andgrab us, without any protection, they make europe dance to their tones... this is just red flag, if we dont get together organize and fight this now, its matter time before europe is just like usa, a police state, were companys choose the lider, were the lider as an agenda, to make enforce the companys laws into civil life, our rights and everything that life should be about, freedom, family, peace is going to be a shadow of the past, its sad thatppl only wake up when the cops bangin on their front door, if u dont care about mark, dont move or take action "mark", and all the marks of this world wont move a finger when u get arrested, oryourcivilrights are denied,or usa uses their police orarmy force to enforce their real laws and nature: a companys moved and enforced country, the sickthing is that your tax and mine are paying the hammer that smash us, since companys make laws but upay the enforcement and this is just fucked up, ppl should not pay tax, until the society made to serve our interests not the companys ones...

wereldwijd probeert justitie marihuana strafbaar te maken,het kaf van het koren te scheiden ,, hiermee probeert ze een voorbeeld te stellen maar ""als hij alleen zaden verkocht", krijgen ze alleen meer problemen
